Cheyenne Big Day Bird Count Rescheduled for May 27th due to the recent snowstorm

Bald EagleThe City of Cheyenne has asked that everyone stay out of city parks over the weekend as there may continue to be branches from trees falling due to the snowstorm.
Since the trees are even bigger at the Wyoming Hereford Ranch and the Research Station, count compiler Greg Johnson is rescheduling the Cheyenne Big Day Bird Count for May 27, and the tally potluck for May 28.
Meet us next Saturday at 6 a.m. at Lions Park, in the parking lot to the south of the Children’s Village, off South Lions Park Drive. If you want to join us later, call Mark Gorges, 307-287-4953, and find out where we are.
The tally potluck will be next Sunday at 5 p.m. at Greg Johnson’s house, 329 W. Idaho Street. You can also call in your independent bird sightings from the Cheyenne area to Mark or email them to him at mgorges@juno.com.

See you next week!

P.S. The Laramie County Master Gardener Plant Sale is still on tomorrow, May 20, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. It’s inside at Archer in the older steel-sided building on the new fairgrounds (look for signs when you get to the roundabout). There will be vendors, food, garden talks every half hour, and plants.
